TAPE COO Ted Harrison Appointed to NCMA Board of Directors

Ted Harrison

Alexandria, Va. – The National Contract Management Association (NCMA) has appointed Technical and Project Engineering, LLC (TAPE) Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Theodore “Ted” C. Harrison to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Harrison, along with two other new directors, will join NCMA’s governance body to help carry out NCMA’s mission of improving the contracting management profession and helping prepare members for future developments in the procurement field. He already serves NCMA, which is entering its 60th anniversary year, as a member of the Standards Consensus Body.

“In addition to Ted’s operations responsibilities, his acquisition knowledge and personal relationships across industry and government have been invaluable as TAPE pursues new work opportunities,” TAPE CEO and President Louisa Long Jaffe stated. “NCMA and all contract management stakeholders are fortunate to have someone as accomplished as Ted working on their behalf.”

Before joining TAPE in March 2018, Mr. Harrison had a distinguished 37-year career with the U.S. Army, retiring at the rank of Major General. During that time, he held a variety of acquisition posts—from contracting officer up to Commanding General of the U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC). Commanding ACC from 2013 to 2015, Mr. Harrison led an organization with over 5,000 personnel located at more than 100 sites across the world. He was responsible for $40 billion in annual contract awards and contract management and oversight of over $150 billion in open contracts.

Mr. Harrison also served on the congressionally mandated Section 809 Panel on Acquisition Reform, tasked with finding ways to streamline, improve, and codify Department of Defense acquisition.

“The American public is best served when industry and government maximize their collaboration, coordination, and communication,” Mr. Harrison said. “NCMA’s mission of improving the contract management profession is a key factor toward this outcome. I very much look forward to taking on this new role to support NCMA in this crucial work.”
