TAPE SVP Named to New NCMA Contract Management Standards Group
Alexandria, Va. – The National Contract Management Association (NCMA) has appointed Technical and Project Engineering, LLC (TAPE) Senior Vice President (SVP) of Learning Innovation Theodore (Ted) C. Harrison to its inaugural Standards Consensus Body (SCB).
The SCB will help carry out NCMA’s role as an Accredited Standards Developer for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Mr. Harrison will work with other SCB members to develop and advance standards and practices to shape the global contract management profession. His SCB term ends June 30, 2021.
“In Ted’s short time at TAPE, he has demonstrated great acumen in all facets of acquisition and enhanced our corporate capabilities and reputation,” CEO and President Louisa Long Jaffe stated. “NCMA, ANSI, and all contract management stakeholders will benefit from Ted’s experience and input from both the industry and government contracting perspectives.”
Before joining TAPE in March 2018, Mr. Harrison had a distinguished 37-year Army career, retiring at the rank of Major General. During that time, he held a variety of acquisition posts from contracting officer up to Commanding General of the U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC). Commanding ACC from 2013 to 2015, Mr. Harrison led an organization with over 5,000 personnel located at more than 100 sites across the world. He was responsible for $40 billion in annual contract awards and contract management and oversight of over $150 billion in open contracts.
Mr. Harrison has current experience in contract management standards development as a member of the Section 809 Panel on Acquisition Reform. Congress tasked the panel with finding ways to streamline, improve, and codify Department of Defense acquisition.
“My passion throughout my acquisition career has been to improve collaboration, coordination, and communication between government and industry to achieve maximum results for the American public,” Mr. Harrison said. “Effective contract management standards are paramount to improving the acquisition process. I very much look forward to supporting the NCMA SCB in this important work.”
