TAPE’s Industry Partner ACET Awarded $28B Defense R&D Contract

Alexandria, Va. – Technical and Project Engineering, LLC (TAPE) announced today that the Office of the Secretary of Defense awarded TAPE industry partner Adams Communications & Engineering Technology (ACET) a contract with a $28 billion ceiling to provide research and development (R&D) and related services for the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC). The DTIC Information Analysis Center (IAC) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) has a three-year base period and a total performance period of nine years if DoD exercises all options. The Air Force Installation Contracting Agency will obligate $54,000 in fiscal year 2018 and 2019 R&D funds as a minimum-order guarantee.

ACET was the only small business to win a spot on DTIC IAC MAC Pool 1 for unrestricted full-and-open competition. The company, supported by TAPE, will compete with 14 other awardees for R&D task orders in 22 diverse focus areas, including:

  • Knowledge management and information sharing
  • Weapon systems
  • Biometrics
  • Autonomous systems; and,
  • Alternative energy.

IACs collect, analyze, synthesize, produce, and disseminate scientific and technical information for DoD and other Federal Government users. They specifically support the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering in developing innovative solutions to mitigate new and emerging adversary threats, bringing cost effective new or extended capabilities to existing military systems, and creating technological surprise for adversaries through science and engineering applications.

TAPE previously supported ACET on information technology work for the Department of Veterans Affairs and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance work for the Army Communications-Electronics Command. For the DTIC IAC MAC contract, TAPE brings particular expertise in software analysis, information assurance, and modeling and simulation.
