TAPE Ranks Among Largest D.C. Women-Owned Firms; CEO Profiled

Alexandria, Va. – The Washington Business Journal (WBJ) ranked Technical and Project Engineering, LLC (TAPE) at number 25 on its October 19, 2018-published “Largest Women-Owned Companies in Greater D.C.” list (subscription required to view), which was based on 2017 total revenue.
Government and industry organizations, as well as other contracting stakeholders in the Washington, D.C. region, use WBJ’s weekly Lists and annual Book of Lists as reliable and reputable sources of business information.
WBJ also interviewed TAPE CEO and President Louisa Long Jaffe for its “Meet nine women founders who dominate otherwise male-dominated spheres” feature (subscription required to view, but see photo), also published on October 19. In the article, Ms. Jaffe discusses issues such as the obstacles in founding a women-owned company and TAPE’s current challenges in the government contracting sphere.
After serving in the Women’s Army Corps and U.S. Reserves for 28 years, Ms. Jaffe has been a women’s advocate throughout her business career. She is a member of Women in Technology and Women Impacting Public Policy and former member of the Army Women’s Foundation Planning Committee and Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation.
Ms. Jaffe’s honors include the Smart CEO Brava Award and Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016 and Woman Vetrepreneur of the Year from the National Veteran-Owned Business Association in 2014. And just last week, Ms. Jaffe was honored at the FedFem Awards in the WOB/Female Executive category.
“From my experience in the military and business world, I came to know many strong women who have made important contributions to our country and economy,” Ms. Jaffe said. “Washington Business Journal’s decision to highlight some of these female leaders and their companies is very important. I am honored to be part of such a prestigious group.”
