Alexandria, Va. – The Washington Business Journal (WBJ) ranked Technical and Project Engineering, LLC (TAPE) at number 25 on its August 24, 2018-published “Largest Veteran-Owned Companies in Greater D.C.” list, which was based on 2017 total revenue.
Government and industry organizations, as well as other contracting stakeholders in the Washington, D.C. region, use WBJ’s weekly Lists and annual Book of Lists as reliable and reputable sources of business information.
TAPE CEO and President Louisa Long Jaffe served in the Women’s Army Corps and U.S. Army Reserves for 28 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2002. To continue helping her country, Ms. Jaffe co-founded TAPE in 2003 as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business.
One highlight of Ms. Jaffe’s tenure at TAPE was the National Veteran-Owned Business Association naming her as its “First Annual Woman Vetrepreneur of the Year” in 2014. Also that year, the White House honored her as a veteran/entrepreneur “Champion of Change.” In 2015, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert A. McDonald appointed Ms. Jaffe to a two-year term on the Advisory Committee on Women Veterans.
With military contracts comprising most of TAPE’s work, nearly 40 percent of employees are veterans, with approximately 15 percent being service disabled.
Ms. Jaffe stated, “I believe that the skillsets, dedication, and love of country among TAPE’s veteran workforce has been instrumental in our growth in revenue and reputation.” She added, “We are very proud and gratified to have a place on the Largest Veteran-Owned Companies in Greater D.C. list. We hope this listing provides further evidence to government and industry organizations that TAPE is a trusted and proven partner in solving the nation’s most challenging issues.”
TAPE is a CVE-Verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned/8(m) Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) with ISO 9001:2015 certification. The company helps keep the nation safe and strong by providing technology services, training and readiness solutions, and management consulting to the Federal Government.
