Ms. Jaffe will contribute to the Military Spouses panel discussion, which will focus on the challenges of employment, entrepreneurship, education, and work-life balance. “Given Ms. Jaffe’s successful tenure in the military and as an entrepreneur, her expertise will be a great complement,” said Dr. Gerald Gordon, President and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, a sponsor of the conference.

Prior to TAPE, Ms. Jaffe served in the U.S Women’s Army Corps and Army Reserves for 28 years. During this time, she served at the Pentagon for 12 years Pentagon as a Media Relations and Public Affairs Officer, including during the first Gulf War. Ms. Jaffe retired in 2002 after returning to active duty in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Ms. Jaffe’s subsequent success in leading TAPE has resulted in honors such as the National Veteran-Owned Business Association naming her as its “First Annual Woman Vetrepreneur of the Year” in 2014. Later that year, the White House honored her as a veteran/entrepreneur “Champion of Change.”

“Part of the reason I started TAPE was to help myself and other veterans continue our legacy of service. By leveraging our service experience and unique skill sets, we are able to help solve the Federal Government’s most complex challenges,” Ms. Jaffe stated. “We are proud that nearly 40 percent of TAPE’s employees are veterans. I hope to help other retired service members entering the private sector through the Veterans in Business Conference.”
